At Jung Shim, chanting is incorporated into our classes to help open the energy system and improve the flow of energy . But how does chanting really give us that much needed boost and restore our energy levels?
Chanting calms our emotions. It has been found to soothe all our bodily systems and activates the body's natural healing process.
At Jung Shim we liken chanting to re-tuning the radio. Chanting is reciting sound which changes our vibration, becoming more calm and peaceful so we can receive Qi, positive energy.
Chanting gives us clarity so we can change our patterns of thought. It also helps to release toxins and removing negative feelings so we can receive Qi and re-charge our internal battery.
Have you ever noticed how we attract different opportunities, different people and different reactions when we are calm and peaceful to when we are stressed and angry? The law of attraction demonstrates that when we are positive and open hearted, even in difficult situations, we attract people and find solutions that allow us to keep moving forward rather than feeling stuck in negativity.
A study by Dr Alan Watkins (Senior lecturer in neuroscience at Imperial College London) revealed that while chanting, our heart rate and blood pressure dips to its lowest in the day.
If you’re a yoga fan, studies prove that combining chanting with your daily yoga routine can facilitate greater weight loss in a shorter period of time.
Chanting helps block the release of stress hormones and increases immune functionality. It also keeps our muscles and joints flexible. (Study by Neuroscientist Marian Diamond, University of California).
Jung Shim classes introduce chanting to receive Qi energy and maintain a positive state of mind to give us more happiness and improve our wellbeing.

Jung Shim Classes
Jung Shim classes are based on eastern principles which understand that good health is a achieved with a steady flow and healthy store of Qi (or chi) energy in our system, which maintains the balance of mind, body and spirit.
Training Classes last one hour and consist of chanting, gentle movements and meditation. They help open the energy system to restore the natural flow of Qi energy around the body; this in turn enables toxins to be released and our internal battery to be recharged.
